Privacy Policy

The short version

Clantools, run by DJ Maddox, keeps your planner saves in your browser. There are no user accounts or shared cloud saves. Simply sending someone a link to the site does not give them your edits. Loading the website still involves internet services, as explained below.

What stays in your browser

Your Clans, cats, family trees, lore and image files you select are saved using local storage — a small storage area in your browser. The planner does not upload those saves to a database. They remain there until you delete them, your browser removes them or a reset or error changes them.

Anyone with access to your device and browser profile may be able to view those saves. Local storage is not a secure vault: do not enter passwords, financial details or sensitive personal information.

Information used to deliver the site

The site’s hosting services may process your IP address, browser details, pages requested and technical error information to deliver the site, keep it secure and troubleshoot problems. This is separate from your planner saves. Hosting and service providers may handle technical information under their own policies; this policy does not promise that no logs, cookies or diagnostics exist.

The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google. If you enter an image’s web address, your browser connects to that image’s host. Those services can receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address. See Google’s Privacy Policy for Google’s practices.

Display settings

Your chosen color theme and text size are also saved in your browser's local storage so the site looks the way you like on your next visit. They are not sent to us.

Downloads and sharing

Exported tree files can contain character details and avatar images. You decide whether to download or share them and with whom. After you share a file, the recipient controls their copy. A full backup file contains everything saved in your browser — all Clans, lineages, lore, territory maps, pins and any images you added. Keep it somewhere safe and only share it with people you trust. A single tree export does not include every part of a Clan, such as all lore or territory maps.

Emailing the developer

If you contact calmbeforequietus@gmail.com, DJ Maddox receives your email address, message and any attachments through Gmail. They are used to respond to your enquiry and handle related follow-up, and may remain in email records. Please send only information needed for your question. Email providers process messages under their own policies.

Your choices and privacy requests

To delete planner saves, clear this site’s data in your browser settings. A later visit will load the default preset again. Delete downloaded files separately if you no longer want them. We cannot retrieve or delete local saves from your device for you.

For questions about information you have emailed, or to request access, correction or deletion where applicable, contact the address above. We will respond as required by applicable law. Some records may need to be kept for legal reasons. No internet service or device storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

Updates

Changes to this policy will be posted here with an updated date. If new features change how personal information is handled, this policy will be updated. You can read more about the project on the About page.
